SASE UMN

Society of Asian Scientists & Engineers (SASE) UMN Chapter

• SASE is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of Asian heritage STEM professionals in both education and employment. I was both the volunteer coordinator and SASE Jr. program coordinator for the University of Minnesota collegiate chapter from June 2016 to May 2017.

• Our SASE Jr. initiatives included:

  • Implemented a semester long mentorship program that paired high school students with undergraduate student mentors

  • Hosted an on-campus events for high school students including: Visible Heart Lab facility tour and Experimental Surgical Services Lab tour and surgery workshop

  • Created a $500 diversity essay-based scholarship for Central High School seniors
